Robert Gill, M.Litt
Portfolio Manager Robert began his investment career at BMO Nesbitt Burns and subsequently moved to the United Kingdom, where he joined Deutsche Bank’s Global Investment Banking division. Following his time in the U.K., Robert spent nine years at Foyston, Gordon & Payne Investment Counsel, analyzing American, global and Canadian companies as Director of Research, and Associate Portfolio Manager for global and U.S. equities. In 2010, he joined Morrison Williams Investment Management as Portfolio Manager. More recently, Robert was a Vice-President, Portfolio Manager and Partner at Lincluden Investment Management. Prior to joining Fairbank Investment Management as Portfolio Manager, Robert was Senior Vice-President and Portfolio Manager at Goodreid Investment Counsel, where he was also a member of the management committee. Robert is an instructor for the Advanced Trust Management Standards (ATMS) course, and a guest speaker with the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans. He is a Trustee of the investment committee for the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. He serves as a business mentor for M.B.A. students in the Rotman Student Investment Fund at the University of Toronto. Robert is a frequent contributor to BNN-Bloomberg TV, the Globe and Mail and the National Post, and he has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times. Robert received his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s University and is a graduate of the University of St. Andrews (United Kingdom) with a Master’s degree in Management, Economics and International Relations. He has also studied executive education in value investing at Columbia University in New York and investment management at Harvard Business School. Robert joined the firm in 2025. |
