Erik Parnoja, MBA, CFA
Portfolio Manager Erik began his investment career in 1995 when he joined Sprucegrove Investment Management as a research analyst. Over the next 27 years, he rose to become a Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Sprucegrove, focused on global equities. Along the way, he held the position of Director of Research, overseeing a fourteen-member team of research analysts and assistants. Prior to joining Sprucegrove, Erik spent five years as a commercial pilot with Canadian Regional Airlines. Erik retired from Sprucegrove in the fall of 2021 and immediately joined the investment team at Fairbank Investment Management. Erik’s investment acumen was honed at Sprucegrove in the Buffett and Graham value tradition focused on finding high quality companies to invest in and investing for the long-term when those companies represent reasonable value. Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from McMaster University, a diploma in Aviation and Flight Technology from Seneca College, an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto and received the Chartered Financial Analyst (C.F.A.) designation in 2000. |
